Since December 1997, the "Hallstatt - Dachstein / Salzkammergut" region has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And you can visit it, as this hiking tour combines crystal-clear lakes, impressive mountains, and charming villages with well-marked hiking trails. The region encompasses 76 lakes – all with crystal-clear waters, set in enchanting mountains with the lush green alpine pastures and the bizarre cliffs of the Dachstein massif, which rise up to 3,000 meters high.
