Don't be misled by the name "Lower Tauern," as the steep peaks and bold ridges are impressive, but above all, a revelation for the eyes and the senses. Mountain slopes are reflected in countless secluded mountain lakes. Between them, wild streams bubble and gurgle, further enriching the hiking experience. This region is known for its abundance of water, as it is the most water-rich mountain range in the Eastern Alps. It's therefore hardly surprising that water, in its many forms, plays a prominent role on every hiking day. A special feature of the Dachstein-Tauern region is the 120-kilometer-long Ennstal Panorama Trail, offering both scenic and varied views. It elegantly combines alpine exploration with a sense of well-being.

The hikes are not technically difficult and are suitable for beginners, provided you have sufficient fitness. Your hiking gear should include: sturdy shoes, a backpack, sun and rain gear, and functional clothing.
