Flowers and the diverse relationships between people and flowering plants will be the focus of an exciting exhibition project at the Universalmuseum Joanneum in 2026: BLOOM is a vibrant bouquet of 10 exhibitions that invite visitors to explore the meanings of flowers – they represent healing and beauty, love and transience, serve as symbols of protest, and are status symbols. Experience history, art, culture, and nature through the lens of flowers and marvel at the richness of Styria's cultural heritage!

Treat yourself to a "blooming" culinary journey!
As a specialty, the Universalmuseum Joanneum offers "culinary journeys." Culture and cuisine combine to create unique experiences, all centered around flowers: Choose from a "Culinary Journey of the Senses," beginning at the Natural History Museum with a guided tour about the love lives of plants and culminating in a sensual menu. The artistically inspired "blooming" culinary journey introduces you to floral-inspired art projects at the Museum of Folk Life and Art and the Kunsthaus Graz, and delights your palate with a flower-adorned menu. These journeys can be booked individually for groups of 12 to 20 people.
