Description

In the exhibition “Our City! Jewish Vienna to the present” of the Jewish history of Vienna from the Middle Ages to the present. The museum's collections of Judaica and cult objects, which are unique in the world, are presented in the display depot. The "Installation of Memory" by the New York artist Nancy Spero can be seen in the atrium.
The Museum Judenplatz shows the special significance of the Judenplatz, where the center of Jewish life was in the Middle Ages. The permanent exhibition “Our Middle Ages. The first Jewish community in Vienna" offers an exciting insight into Jewish life at that time. The impressive excavation and a 3D reconstruction of the medieval synagogue can also be seen.

Several exciting temporary exhibitions await you at both locations each year. In the museum shop, you'll find exhibition catalogs and a curated selection of books, as well as gift ideas. The Taïm Café Bistro invites you to refresh yourself with oriental-Mediterranean dishes or take a break with coffee and cake.
