The Imperial Apartments of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth in the Hofburg Vienna are one of the most important sights in Vienna and give an insight into the private living atmosphere of Franz Joseph & Sisi.
The Sisi Museum uses numerous personal items from the Empress Elisabeth to show the true personality of the misunderstood Empress. The tour of the Sisi Museum begins with the Empress' death and tells room by room how the Empress Sisi's myth came about.
The Silver Chamber is another highlight in the Vienna Hofburg. The holdings of the Court Silver and Table Chamber are shown, which passed to the Republic of Austria after the end of the Habsburg monarchy. Valuable glass, silver, porcelain and cooking and baking utensils from the courtyard kitchen provide an insight into the courtly table culture.
