A circular route - approx. 50 km long - that is as educational as it is varied and opens up the Salzkammergut with its magical mountains and crystal-clear lakes like something out of a picture book. For a special kind of hiking trip, we recommend this probably most beautiful spot in Austria!
Accommodation: Accommodation is in comfortable rooms with shower/WC, TV and some. Internet/WLAN in 3* hotels or inns. Public parking on site (for a fee). Payable locally: local tax.

Your hiking tour
Day 1:
Arrival in the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt-Dachstein / Salzkammergut
In Bad Goisern you will receive your travel documents, a welcome drink and a souvenir from the Salzkammergut. Overnight stay in Bad Goisern.
Day 2:
Bad Goisern – East bank hiking trail – Hallstatt, approx. 5 hours, 18 km, elevation gain/descent: 115 / 100 m
The first stage takes you from St. Agatha towards Lake Hallstatt and along the east bank hiking trail - with magnificent views of Hallstatt and the Dachstein glacier - to Obertraun and on to Hallstatt. Overnight stay in Hallstatt.
Day 3:
“Path through the wilderness” to Bad Aussee, approx. 6 hours, 20 km, elevation gain/descent: 340 / 200 m
Today we go on a themed trail above the town of Obertraun to the Koppenbrüllerhöhle. (Entrance and tour included!). You then hike along the Traun River on the “Path through the Wilderness” through the wild and romantic Koppental to Bad Aussee. Overnight stay in Bad Aussee.
Day 4:
Bad Aussee – Oberleislingalm – Bad Goisern, approx. 6-7 hours, 19 km, elevation gain/descent: 500 / 660 m
From Bad Aussee via the Alpine Garden (worth seeing!), past the historic Ausseer Salzberg and through beautiful alpine pastures, today takes you back to Bad Goisern. Overnight stay in Bad Goisern.
Day 5:
Individual departure or extra nights.
General information
The hikes do not present any technical difficulties and are also suitable for beginners, provided they are in good physical condition. Your hiking equipment should include: sturdy shoes, backpack, sun and rain protection, functional clothing.
