Dachstein Circular Hiking Trail - Summer Card Special

Let yourself be captivated by the wonderful world of the Dachstein, by the mountain personalities in the landscape jewel of the Salzkammergut. You can get to know the most beautiful spots in the region on countless romantic small paths and paths or on well-developed hiking trails. You then take a break in rustic alpine huts and breathe deeply in the fresh mountain air. In 1997, the Dachstein, together with the Dachstein Salzkammergut region, was declared a World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO.
 
Accommodation: You will spend the night in cozy rooms with shower/toilet, TV and some. Internet/WLAN in 3* hotels or inns as well as in the hut in beds or in the mattress camp. You have to bring your own sleeping bag. Due to their location, not all huts can offer running water, hot water or showers. Some toilets don't flush. Dogs on request (not allowed in the sleeping camp, they can spend the night with a companion in the winter room or in the dog house). Public parking on site (for a fee). Payable locally: local tax.

Your hiking tour

Day 1:
Individual arrival to the Schladming-Ramsau region. Overnight stay in Schladming or Ramsau.
Day 2:
Take advantage of the numerous discounts and advantages of the Schladming-Dachstein Summer Card! Your hotelier will be happy to inform you. Overnight stay in Schladming or Ramsau.
Day 3:
Ascent to the Dachstein glacier - high-altitude hike to the Guttenberghaus
approx. 9.5 km, 4-5 hours, elevation gain/descent: 264 / 861 m (in bad weather, the Guttenberghaus can be reached via a route in the valley).
Overnight stay in the Guttenberghaus. Luggage transport from Schladming or Ramsau to Gröbming, where you will spend the night the following day (you must bring your own luggage and sleeping bag for the night at the Guttenberghaus).
Day 4:
High-altitude hike from the Guttenberghaus over the “Am Stein” plateau and the
Grafenbergalm to Stoderzinken, approx. 13 km, 6 hours, elevation gain/descent: 552 / 860 m. Overnight stay at Hotel Steiner Haus.
Day 5:
Hike from Stoderzinken via Notgasse (500 m long rocky gorge with rock carvings that are up to 2,000 years old) to Brandalm - via Brandmoos back through the red wall to the Brünnerhütte and Stoderzinken approx. 15 km, 7 hours, elevation gain/descent: 1169 / 1169 m – or a relaxing day in the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel Steiner Haus.
Day 6:
After a hearty mountain breakfast, you will be transferred back from the Steiner Haus to Schladming/Ramsau, your starting point. Individual journey home or additional nights.

General information
During the tour around the Dachstein you will largely be in high alpine terrain. Appropriate mountain equipment and endurance are therefore a prerequisite. The necessary equipment includes: mountain boots, functional clothing, backpack, water and food, rain and sun protection, warm clothing - temperature drops are possible even in midsummer, hat, warm gloves, first aid kit, cell phone, possibly hiking poles, etc. Your route will be immortalized by your entry in every hut book in the Dachstein Mountains. The paths are well signposted, but markings may be obscured by remaining snow. Map material and the Dachstein hiking book must therefore be carried with you. Accompaniment by an experienced hiking guide possible on request. Please note that the tour depends on the weather, but there are always alternative hiking options.
