Description
For those who spend their active holiday in the Salzkammergut, the action starts right in front of the hotel door. After all, the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut - from Bad Ischl via Bad Goisern to Hallstatt - is famous for its mountains and peaks. Sounding names like Dachstein or Krippenstein make mountaineers' hearts beat faster. But countless other hikes in the region are just waiting to be discovered by you. In between, demanding climbing tours challenge experienced mountaineers and fun via ferratas for the whole family.
Accommodation: Comfortable rooms with shower/toilet, TV and partly Internet/WLAN in 3* hotels or inns. Public car park on site (for a fee). Payable on site: local tax.
Your hiking tour
Day 1:
Individual arrival in Bad Goisern. Handover of the documents at the accommodation. Overnight stay in Bad Goisern There is the possibility to do a small circular route - Karl-Pilz-Rundweg in Bad Goisern - approx. 12km and 3.5 hours. If the weather permits, a swimming trip to Lake Hallstatt or to the Bad Goisern public baths is recommended. A visit to the crafts house or the local history and rural museum in Bad Goisern would be an idea for those interested in culture and tradition.
Day 2:
Bike tour on Lake Hallstatt with a visit to the salt mines in Hallstatt, approx. 30 km, altitude gain/descent: 357/357 m.
Cycle from Bad Goisern to Steeg and along the eastern shore path of Lake Hallstatt to Obertraun. Follow the cycle path to Hallstatt and explore this enchanting place. You climb the Salzberg by train, where the guided tour in the Hallstatt Salt Mine begins. You take the Salzbergbahn back to Hallstatt and start your return journey by bike to Bad Goisern. The visit to the mine in Hallstatt takes about 90 minutes.
A total of at least 2.5 hours should be planned for the stay, including the ascent and descent with the Salzbergbahn and a short hike across the Hallstatt high valley to the entrance building to the Salzwelten Hallstatt.

Day 3:
Canoe trip on Lake Hallstatt, approx. 3 hours. The Salzkammergut lakes are predestined for a boat trip. After a brief introduction, explore the tranquil lake and beautiful shoreline by canoe with a guide. Overnight stay in Bad Goisern
Day 4:
Hiking tour to Obertraun - ascent to the Krippenstein and guided tour in the ice caves and visit to the 5fingers viewing platform, approx. 15 km, 3 hours, altitude difference on the ascent/descent: 128 m/95 m. Start in St. Agatha to Lake Hallstatt - along of the east bank you hike to Obertraun directly to the valley station of the Krippenstein cable car. Enjoy the fantastic views during the hike to the Dachstein Glacier. Spectacular viewing platforms and breathtaking caves await you on the Dachstein-Krippenstein. With sections I and II you have the opportunity to visit the following highlights on the Krippenstein: guided tour through the Dachstein giant ice cave, 5fingers viewing platform, the World Heritage spiral, the World Heritage view and the Dachstein shark, or a hike on the Heilbronn circular hiking trail. After the descent you travel comfortably in the public bus back to Bad Goisern. Overnight stay in Bad Goisern
Day 5:
Individual departure or additional nights possible.
General information
Hiking and cycling tours are carried out individually with appropriate maps and information material. All other activities are carried out with professional support. Swimming skills are a prerequisite for activities on the water. In order to be able to enjoy the time in and on the rock, you should be free from fear of heights and claustrophobia. All activities are suitable for children aged 8 and over. The trips to the activities are carried out with your own car.
