Location
The hut is located on the Gstoder, in the idyllic Seetal, in the middle of the alpine pasture area, in marvellous peace and quiet, with a wonderful view! Ascent via a 5km long forest track that ends at the hut. Please do not drive from 5 pm until nightfall (resting time for the game)!
Distances
50m above the hut there is an alpine hut where you can enjoy a snack from mid-June to mid-September. Next village Tamsweg 17km, Prebersee 26km, fishing possibilities at the Seetaler See in 5km. Hiking trails directly from the hut up to the 2,241m high summit. Ski areas St. Margarethen, Mauterndorf, Fanningberg 30km each. Ski tours on the Gstoder from the hut!
Facilities
The 200-year-old hut has been completely renovated and lovingly furnished. Anteroom with wood cooker, oven. This is where you cook and heat the water, which you fetch from the well in front of the hut. Cosy living room with sitting area and tiled stove, 1 double room. From the anteroom on the left, stairs lead up to the attic room to the double room and on the right, ladder to the attic room to the dormitory for 2 people. Outhouse behind the hut (emptied regularly). Sunny seating area in front of the hut, well, barbecue area. Light with gas cartridges, electricity via generator if required.
Additional Costs
Local tax currently EUR 2.50/person/night, mobility tax from 1 May 2025 EUR 0.50/person older than 15 years/night, wood/light flat rate EUR 50/week. Petrol for generator currently EUR 1,50/l, final cleaning EUR 80,-, bed linen EUR 10,-/set, towels EUR 5,- for rent, pets EUR 25,-/week. Deposit for barrier key EUR 100,-.
