Hut Tour on the Berliner Höhenweg
The area of the "Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Park" begins near Mayrhofen, extending to the Italian border in the south. It includes around 80 glaciers and many popular peaks and routes, such as the Berliner Höhenweg, which this hiking tour follows in part. This high-altitude scenery became popular for its beauty and mineral wealth, as well as its singing and trading inhabitants, who successfully campaigned to prevent the Zillertal from becoming a transit point on the way south. Quite the opposite – after just a one- to two-hour hike, you can experience the romance of secluded mountain huts and a sense of freedom in an excellently developed hiking area. Look forward to varied hiking days in the high mountains between 1,800 and 2,500 meters, as well as unique panoramas on some challenging stages.

Requirements and General Information
During the tour in the Zillertal Alps, you will primarily be in alpine terrain. Appropriate mountaineering gear, such as sturdy hiking boots, weather-appropriate clothing, rain gear, and cold weather protection, are essential. Also, bring a backpack, sufficient drinking water, food, sunscreen, a first aid kit, orientation aids, maps, and a telephone. Also, check the current weather conditions and, if necessary, take alternative routes to reach your next accommodation.
The trails are signposted and marked; stay on the trails. Snow may still be present in early summer. Walking times range from 4 to 9 hours, and there may be steep uphill and downhill sections, some of which are also somewhat exposed. Accompaniment by an experienced hiking guide is available upon request.
