The family-run hotel is located on the outskirts of Hinterstoder, surrounded by the mighty Limestone Alps of the Dead Mountains, in the idyllic Stoder Valley. The center of Hinterstoder can be reached within 10 minutes on foot.

In a cozy atmosphere, you'll find an inviting reception area with lounge furniture and a reception desk, a hotel bar as a central meeting point for drinks, cocktails, and coffee, and a heated ski room for your winter equipment. The hotel's own restaurant, furnished in traditional Alpine style, will delight you with regional delicacies from its gourmet cuisine as well as fine vegetarian dishes. An elevator, an electric vehicle charging station (for a fee), and free on-site parking complete the offerings. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the hotel.

Meals
Poppengut's half-board: sumptuous gourmet breakfast buffet with a muesli corner, fresh fruit, various fruit juices, whole-grain products, and much more; in the afternoon, a cold or warm snack and homemade cakes from the buffet; in the evening, a 5-course menu with regional delicacies from natural cuisine and a salad buffet. Vegetarian, reduced-calorie, or diet meals are available upon request and advance notice. Christmas menu included.

Winter fun
The impressive mountain peaks of the Totes Gebirge mountains form the breathtaking backdrop for Upper Austria's only World Cup ski resort, the Höss in Hinterstoder. With 14 modern ski lifts, you can truly enjoy the 40 kilometers of varied slopes with top-quality snow. For an extra dose of action, skiing highlights include the adventure slopes and ski loops, as well as the Hannes Trinkl World Cup slope and a dedicated racing and training center with a permanent race track.
From the hotel, you can reach the valley station of the Hinterstoder-Höss ski area within a 5-minute walk or with the free ski bus. A stop is located directly at the hotel. The Wurzeralm ski area, with around 22 kilometers of slopes, is approximately 30 kilometers away and can also be reached by free ski bus.
Off the slopes, explore the wintery natural landscape with winter or snowshoe hikes or a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will find more than 120 kilometers of trails throughout the Pyhrn-Priel region. A trail entrance is located right next to the hotel. Just 300 meters from the hotel, the Stoderer natural toboggan run, which is illuminated daily until 11 p.m. when snow conditions allow, promises fun for the whole family.
