The Narzissendorf Zloam is just a 10-minute walk from Lake Grundlsee, nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Ausseerland region in the Styrian Salzkammergut. At the foot of the Aussee mountains, the car-free holiday village lies between the blue sky and green meadows, inviting you to experience a "summer like in the old days." The center of Grundlsee, with its shops, is about 2.5km away. Bad Aussee is about 5km away, and Hallstatt and Bad Ischl can be reached in approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car.
Lake Grundlsee is the largest lake in Styria and shapes both the town and the region. Nowhere else are customs and folk culture so deeply rooted in daily life as in the Aussee region. A vibrant program of events, enjoyable for all generations, unfolds throughout the year. Nestled among mountains, water, and sweeping vistas, everyone can find their perfect spot. Gentle hills and striking peaks frame the shimmering water, creating a tranquil and inviting backdrop that beckons exploration. Around Lake Grundlsee, leisurely strolls, easy hikes, and bike rides offer opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
Facilities
The 34 lovingly and meticulously reconstructed houses, built to the highest standards, form the heart of the car-free village. A popular meeting place is the village square with its inviting seating areas. Surrounding the square are the village pond, a large adventure playground, the Zloam Wirt inn, the manor house with reception, village shop, and woodworking and creative workshop, and the "Klangwerkstatt" event building with a function hall, Kobinger Bar, and seminar rooms.
Typical Aussee cuisine, hearty and made with the finest local ingredients, is served in the village's own inn, the "Zloam Wirt," which features a sun terrace by the pond and a view of the playground. Enjoy delicious breakfast options, delectable cakes, and Austrian pastries at the Wiesencafe. The Zloam village shop is open 24/7 and offers regional products for everyday needs, breakfast ingredients, and gift ideas in a self-service format. The reception and a fully equipped woodworking and creative workshop with child-friendly machines and regular workshops are located in the manor house. During the summer months, the village's natural swimming pond invites you to relax. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Free parking (some covered) is available in the public car park on the edge of the village.
Payable on site: Dog (max. 2 dogs per house or 1 dog per studio): EUR 25,- per night including bowl and blanket. Zloam breakfast box available upon request. Security deposit for the holiday home: EUR 300,- per stay, for the apartment/studio: EUR 200,- per stay. Tourist tax: EUR 3.50 per person/night for guests aged 15 and over.
Apartments
The vacation homes, built in the traditional Aussee style, are spread across the village districts of Fischerwiese, Eibenwald, and Musikantenwald. Each home is a small work of art in its own right, reflecting high-quality Aussee craftsmanship, regional culture, and the beauty of nature. The houses and apartments, which come in various sizes, feature a bathroom with a bathtub and/or shower, toilet, hair dryer, entryway with a coat rack, cozy bedrooms, a bright living area with a dining nook, a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette with stovetop, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, and kettle, a utility room with a washer/dryer, flat-screen TV, safe, and Wi-Fi, as well as a balcony and/or terrace. For cozy warmth in every season, most houses feature a fireplace and/or a sauna. Card and board games are also available.
OB (2-3): Studio Tuba, approx. 36 m², double bed and sofa bed, kitchenette with dining area, private sauna, terrace or balcony.
AE (3-6): 3-room Kontrabass apartment, approx. 60 m², 1 bedroom with a double bed and 1 alcove with a pull-out single or double bed, open-concept kitchen with dining area and sofa in the light-filled Ausseer veranda, private sauna, terrace or balcony.
XF (4-7): Toplitzsee vacation home on 2 floors, approx. 94 m², 1 bedroom with a double bed, 1 bedroom with a 160 cm double bed plus a loft bed, living room with a pull-out sofa and a fireplace (mostly), kitchen and dining area, 2 restrooms, private sauna on the upper floor, terrace or balcony.
XG (4-8): Grundlsee vacation home on 2 floors, approx. 117 sq. ft., 1 bedroom on the ground floor with en suite bathroom and terrace, 1 bedroom on the upper floor with a balcony, a children’s room with a bunk bed, a wellness bathroom on the upper floor with a private sauna, 2 toilets, a kitchen-living room with a pull-out sofa, a fireplace, and a dining area on the large Ausseer veranda.
Final cleaning (1 interim cleaning for stays of 14 nights or more), electricity, water, and heating, as well as bed linens and towels (changed once for stays of 7 nights or more) included.
Activities
Extensive weekly program as posted, scavenger hunt on the Austria Trail, sports and play area, curling in the recreation hall, sports equipment rental.
For a fee: 2 outdoor tennis courts, archery on the 3D archery course, 4D archery cinema in the recreation hall, indoor rifle shooting, sports and exercise activities in the Sports Arena Zloam, e-mountain bike rental, riding stables with riding lessons and carriage rides, workshops, and live music and cultural experiences in the Klangwerkstatt Zloam (Sound Workshop Zloam).
Additional Costs
Mandatory surcharges payable on site: local tax (from 15 years) EUR 3.50 per person per night; Deposit in the holiday home: EUR 300,- or in the apartment/studio: EUR 200,- per stay.
Children
A varied weekly program, as posted, includes arts and crafts in the woodworking shop, an adventure playground, a sports and play area with soccer goals, a petting zoo, card and board games, a recreation hall, and a children's vehicle fleet with ride-on toys such as Bobby Cars, tricycles, balance bikes, pedal cars, scooters, go-karts, inline skates, and table tennis (including rentals). Baby equipment is available upon request and subject to availability.
For a fee: Experiences in the Zloam wood and creative workshop (as per the weekly program), a riding stable with pony camps, and adventures in the treasure hunter's forest with professional metal detectors.
Holiday with your Dog
The Narzissendorf Zloam is a wonderful place for your vacation with your dog. The combination of a vacation home, great leisure activities, fun, and nature is simply perfect. A large, fenced dog park with a comfortable bench for two-legged guests and plenty of space for four-legged friends to run around, as well as countless opportunities for walks, are located right outside the door. A dog treat and free poop bags are provided as a welcome gift. A dog blanket, food and water bowls are also provided. In the village shop right next to reception, you'll find not only dog food and treats, but also blankets, toys, brushes, and other grooming supplies for your four-legged friend.
