Beach at the hotel
The friendly hotel impresses with its idyllic and sunny location at the foot of the Traunstein. It is only separated from the eastern shore of Lake Traun by a small road. A private jetty for liner and sailing ships is located directly in front of the house. It is approx. 4km to the center of the spa and ceramics town of Gmunden. In the summer months, an electric shuttle runs between Gmunden Rathausplatz and "Unterm Stein" (Traunstein) for a surcharge.
Whether sailing, diving, water skiing, wakeboarding, surfing, stand up paddling or just sunbathing and lazing around - no lake in Austria offers such a wide range of water sports as the Traunsee. High above the beautiful town of Gmunden, the Grünberg invites you to experience nature without stress with 20 km of well-developed hiking trails, an exciting knowledge trail and cozy rest stops. In addition, the city of Gmunden attracts visitors with a number of cultural events throughout the year. A walk along the lakeside promenade takes you from the city center almost to Lake Castle Ort.
Tip: Visit the Salzkammergut treetop path on the Grünberg. With a total length of 1.400m and a height of up to 21m, the path meanders through the mixed mountain forest at the summit of the Grünberg and takes you past numerous information and adventure stations. The highlight is the observation tower with a breathtaking panoramic view.
Facilities
The popular, family-run traditional hotel in one of the most beautiful places in the Salzkammergut impresses with its diversity. Cozy parlors, a day bar, a guest garden and a wine tasting cellar with wine parlor invite you to socialize. The excellent restaurant with a panoramic lake terrace is popular with guests and locals alike and impresses with traditional delicacies from the region such as lamb, game and fish specialties as well as homemade pastries. During a cooking course (on request & for an additional charge) in the in-house gourmet cooking school, you can learn about Austrian specialties and also cook them yourself. Well-equipped seminar rooms offer the ideal setting for seminars, presentations or any kind of celebration. You can recharge your batteries on the hotel's own beach with loungers and parasols (approx. 20m away). There is a lift and free parking. WiFi is available free of charge. Pets are not allowed.
