The "Explorer Wall" an interactive touchscreen provides information and tips on the weather, local excursions, and activities. A dedicated workbench is available on-site for maintaining skis and other sports equipment. The hotel’s amenities are rounded out by two meeting rooms, a ski storage room, and an elevator. Hinterstoder, a traditional ski and World Cup village in southern Upper Austria often affectionately dubbed a "snow pocket" due to its reliable snow conditions delights visitors with its impressive mountain scenery and diverse range of slopes. The Hinterstoder-Höss ski area reaches an altitude of 2,000 meters and offers 40 kilometers of slopes catering to various skill levels. In addition to the Hannes Trinkl World Cup course for experienced skiers, the Sunny Kids Park for the youngest guests, the SNOWtrail adventure run, and dedicated speed and training tracks ensure plenty of variety on the slopes.
The Explorer Hotel Hinterstoder is located right next to the valley station of the lifts serving the Hinterstoder-Höss ski area. A free ski bus connects the region several times a day with the Wurzeralm ski area located about 30 km away which stands out for its varied slopes and sunny runs. The ski bus stop is just 100 meters away.
The region also offers a wide range of winter experiences off the slopes. Cross-country skiers will find two classic tracks, four skating tracks, and a high-altitude trail. Snack stations and inns along the routes invite visitors to stop and refuel. Winter hiking and snowshoeing trails, sledding opportunities, and rustic ski huts with après-ski options round out the diverse winter offerings.
