Summer Card Special
The main peak of the Dachstein Mountains, at 2,995 meters, is one of the highest peaks in the Northern Alps. The Dachstein played a significant role in the formation of the Salzkammergut region. Many of the Salzkammergut's lakes are former glacial lakes of the Dachstein Glacier. The first ascent of the Hoher Dachstein on July 18, 1834, marked the beginning of the region's mountaineering success story. A little later, Friedrich Simony built the world's first via ferrata here. The cable car was built in the middle of the last century. The tour described here also uses the cable car as an ascent aid. This tour harmoniously combines scenic highlights and elevation changes. Look forward to a delightful hiking trip through diverse landscapes and an encounter with a true "mountain personality"!

General Information
During the tour around the Dachstein, you will be largely in high alpine terrain. Appropriate mountaineering gear and stamina are therefore essential. Necessary gear includes: mountaineering boots, functional clothing, a backpack, water and food, rain and sun protection, warm clothing (even in midsummer, temperatures can drop), a hat, warm gloves, a first-aid kit, a cell phone, and possibly hiking poles, etc. Your route will be recorded in every hut register in the Dachstein Mountains. The trails are well signposted, but markers may be obscured by remaining snow. Therefore, maps and the Dachstein Hiking Guide are essential. Accompaniment by an experienced hiking guide is available upon request.
Please note that the tour is weather dependent, but alternative hiking options are always available.
