Winter fun
Deluxe slope fun: Whether skier or snowboarder, pro or beginner, everyone will find the perfect slope in the expansive ski areas of Zell am See-Kaprun. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area offers guaranteed snow from autumn to early summer thanks to its altitude of up to 3,029 m. Winter sports enthusiasts will find wide glacier slopes, challenging runs like the Black Mamba (63% gradient), snow parks, and freeride routes. The Maiskogel family mountain is located in the center of Kaprun and offers easy and intermediate slopes – ideal for families and beginners. The innovative 3K Kaprun-Kitzsteinhorn-K-onnection, a state-of-the-art tricable gondola lift, connects the Maiskogel directly to the Kitzsteinhorn. On the Schmittenhöhe, ski fans can enjoy a spacious and diverse ski area with mogul slopes, a speed test track, and a training area. With the Ski ALPIN CARD, you can enjoy three premium ski regions with just one ski pass: the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, the Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun, and the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, with a total of 408 kilometers of slopes and 121 cable cars.
In winter, the free ski bus takes you quickly and conveniently to the Kitzsteinhorn and Schmittenhöhe ski areas, as well as to the family-friendly mountains Maiskogel and Lechnerberg. A ski bus stop is located directly at the resort. The family-friendly Maiskogel mountain is less than one kilometer from the TAUERN SPA. The Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See is approximately 5 kilometers away. Ski pass service as well as discounts on ski rentals and ski lessons are offered at the hotel.
There's plenty to discover off the slopes, too: cross-country ski trails and groomed winter hiking trails lead directly past the resort. A special way to explore the stunning mountain world is a winter snowshoe hike. Toboggan runs provide fun with a view, and ice skating or curling on the frozen Lake Zell promise entertainment for the whole family.
