Location
The hut is located in a quiet secluded position, at the edge of the forest, in the middle of an alpine meadow, on the Postalm. Here you will find idyllic nature in the middle of the Salzkammergut region. In winter, the hut can be reached up to 200m via a toll road: status as of 2018: EUR 6, -/adult, children up to 15 years EUR 2.50. Reduction for longer stay (toll ticket will be refunded if you buy a lift ticket!).
In the summer you can drive the last 200m over a forest road to the hut.
Distances
Nearest town Abtenau 15km or Strobl am Wolfgangsee 15km. Postalm ski area with ski school, fun park, ski rental, high-altitude trails (up to 15km in length!), 8 lifts and 20km of groomed slopes in 2km. Leave your car behind: free ski bus connection on site! The Postalm is especially popular with families, also ideal for cross-country skiers and ski tours! In the summer, circular hiking trails, the via ferrata in the Postalmklamm, mountain bike tours, swimming under the waterfall or excursions to one of the many managed huts and the nearby Salzkammergut are waiting for you. Fresh farm products available in 1,5km in summer.
Facilities
The hut has on the ground floor: living room with sitting area, couch and kitchenette with wood stove, oven, washing dishes. Extra space with a large table, ideal for playing. Cool pantry. 1 double room, shower/WC. First floor: 1 double room, 1 four-bed room with double bed and bunk bed, 1 four-bed room with 2 double beds and bunk bed (extra beds). Heating with wood stove. In front of the hut meadow, patio, barbecue and wonderful views over the alpine meadow.
Additional Costs
Electricity € 0,40/kWh, local tourism tax currently € 2,-/person/night, gas for water € 0,50/person/day, wood € 35,-/week. Pet € 25,-/stay, bed linen can be rented for € 7,-/set and towels for € 3,-/set.
