Theater an der Wien
Of Tragedy and Comedy
With the season 2012/13 the new opera house Theater an der Wien starts into the seventh season. A feast for the senses with "tragedy and comedy" of musical theater: the new schedule includes 10 premieres from the baroque to the modern, with a world premiere and a four-part "opera journey" through the 19th century.
The diverse range includes three Baroque operas, four operas in the repertoire of the 19th century and three operas of the 20th and 21st century. Beside the theater sjows enthralling and equally sensual musical theaters by Claudia Monteverdi, Georg Friedrich Händel, Christoph Willibald Gluck, Ludwig van Beethoven, Gioachino Rossini, Hector Berlioz, Guiseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini and Paul Hindemith.
