Of Tragedy and Comedy

With the season 2013/14 the new opera house Theater an der Wien starts into the eighth season. A feast for the senses with "tragedy and comedy" of musical theater: the new schedule includes 14 premieres from the baroque to the modern.

The new season program displays a wide spectrum: three Baroque operas, three operas by W. A. Mozart, four operas of the 19th century, two works of the 20th century as well as a world premiere and a ballet creation. Captivating and sensual music theater by Leonardo da Vinci, George Frideric Händel, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini, Franz Schubert, Giuseppe Verdi, Igor Stravinsky, Mauricio Kagel, Frédéric Chopin (ballet) and Iain Bell are part of the schedule of the upcoming season.
