at Orangery of Schönbrunn Palace

Since the establishment of the Schönbrunn Palace Concerts, the daily performances of the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra play an essential role in Vienna's cultural and musical life. At the Orangery Schönbrunn, a place rich in tradition, the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra and the Schönbrunn Chamber Ensemble perform the most beautiful tunes of the classic composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss. The orchestra is accompanied by two opera singers, a soprano and a baritone, and two ballet-dancers in authentic costumes.

The Orangery Schoenbrunn offers the most suitable ambience for the Palace Concerts. For as long as the time of the Habsburgs the Orangery was a place of musical and artistical festivities. During one of these events, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri competed in a musical contest at court. A contest still considered unique in music history.
